Hello there, friends! New Year, New Life. Now that 2019 is here, it is time for all those good resolutions. Here are mine.
1. Read at least 1 book a month
I’ve always been an avid reader. When I was about six years old my dad sat every day to read with me Enid Blyton’s series “Santa Clara” and that started a life full of books and stories. Of course, I have to give credit for this passion to my father, who always had a book in his hands (a Kindle, nowadays). But the truth is that for the past years I haven’t immersed myself in many amazing tales and the lack of time has always been my excuse.
For that reason, I decided to have as a New Year Resolution to read at least one book a month (12 books this year if you make the math 🙂 ). That’s why when I was traveling back to Boston from my Christmas Holidays visiting my family in Spain I bought a book at the airport (Irena’s Children).
Some of the books I am really excited to read are the following:
- The Perfect Nanny by Leila Slimani
- Every Breath by Nicholas Sparks
- The Five People You Meet In Heaven by Mitch Albom
If you have any suggestions, please let me know in the comments below. Of course, I will make a review of these books as soon as I finish them, so stay posted!
2. Take care of my skin
This is something that I should have been doing regularly. My skin is really sensitive and tends to break out easily so I should take better care of it. The problem is that I don’t have the patience to follow a long routine full of creams, tonics and more. However, my mom gave me for Christmas an easy 3-step-treatment that I have just started trying. Let me tell you: it’s magic.
I have been eating REALLY unhealthy since the beginning of 2019 and my skin hasn’t still suffered from it. It is clean, shiny and fresh, which motivates me to keep up with the cleaning process twice a day. And yes, I will share my skincare routine later this month. You’ll thank me.
3. Meditate everyday
During 2018 I went on and off meditating, but I decided that 2019 is “Meditation Year”. I downloaded Headspace (not sponsored) and even paid the subscription to motivate myself to do it. Surprisingly, I have been meditating every single day since January 1st and it feels great!
4. Exercise regularly
Even though I have been pretty consistent since I moved to Boston, in 2019 I want to “upgrade” my work out routine. Most of my Christmas gifts were related to exercising (Fitbit, workout outfits, running shoes…) so I feel pretty pumped to go to the gym at least 5 days a week.
Believe it or not, this has been my New Year resolution for the past 2 years, and never really made it through spring. But 2019 is going to be different (or at least I hope so).
During the first weeks of January, I was either in Spain celebrating Christmas with my family or in Chile on a vacation with some friends. Therefore, I wasn’t able to start my 5-day-schedule as soon as I wanted. But I am back in Boston now, so I hope I can accomplish this goal and end up the year become a fit human being.
5. Visit 5 new cities during the year
Something I try to do every year is discovering new places. Last year, even though I didn’t go to many new cities, I was lucky enough to travel a lot. I had an amazing year. First moving to Jordan and then to Boston; visiting the south of Spain and London in between. I went to New Hampshire for the first time and, even though I had been there already, Jerusalem surprised me the weekend I was there.
This year, I want to travel to new cities in the US and probably Mexico (which is something that really excites me).
So, there you have it guys! My 2019 New Year Resolutions. What do you think? Do you have any resolutions for this year? Leave your comments down below and let me know! 🙂
