May Recap + June Blogging Goals

May recap and June blogging goals

I have just completed my first-month blogging (hurray!). Being someone who has a history of leaving different projects unfinished, it makes me feel really proud. This has been a big accomplishment for me and I have learned a lot through trial and error, as you can read in one of my latest post 10 Things I Learned After a Month Blogging.

May Blogging Goals Recap

A month ago I published another post where I set my May Blogging Goals and it has been really helpful not just to stay focus but also to remain motivated through this first weeks. Let’s take a quick look at those goals and recap the accomplishments:

  • Grow on Social Media: I wanted to learn a bit more about Pinterest and I have already joined Tailwind, group boards, and different tribes. Hopefully, this will increase my blog’s traffic! Regarding Twitter and Instagram followers, this is my May recap:
    • Twitter: My goal was 200 followers and got 361 (+161)
    • Instagram: My goal was 100 followers and got 171 (+71)
  • Post at least twice a week: I published 14 posts in total this month, so YES! that’s more than 2 a week.
  • Get 500 views: YAAAS! I am really proud of this, even if it doesn’t seem like a big accomplishment to many.
  • Begin self-hosting my site: Done! Finally, I have my own URL and I left I am so happy with the way everything looks now and the freedom self-hosting has given me on a design level that I encourage every one of you to go self-hosted.

June Blogging Goals

Now, to my June goals:

  • Increase traffic: Whenever you start blogging, the main goal is to increase your site’s traffic. That is why this next month I will try to reach 570 views. This post about 5 Smart Blogging Goals to set explains how if you increase your traffic a 6% each month at the end of the year you will have increased it a 100%. That would be awesome!
  • Make some money: I didn’t start blogging to make money however, it could be fun to earn some extra dollars this month.
  • Subscribers: I have just started to build a subscribers list and got my first subscribers (hurray!). I would be really happy if I could reach 50 subscribers this month. If you haven’t yet, hit the subscribe button on the right to join The Opi Family!
  •  Social Goals: My main goal right now is to increase my social networks. I enjoy sharing my latest posts but also reading and commenting on other blogger’s site. Therefore, my social goals are the following:

So that’s it for this month, guys! Do you have any goals for this month? Are you keeping track of your achievements? Let me know in the comments down below!

  1. Congratulations on smashing your goals for May! I hope your June goals are equally as successful! Just a quick question, if you go self-hosted does that mean you lose your current blog followers? (Apologies if this is a dim question!!)

    1. I lost mine… I don’t know if there is a way to keep them, but as in they are followers and not subscribers you can’t add them into your mailing list.
I don’t know if that helps!
      Thanks for the comment! 🙂

  2. Congratulations! You’ve been doing great so far! My blog is six months old and I am still figuring out how to increase my views and subscribers but I am sure I’ll get it right eventually.Haven’t set up any monetization method yet, but that’s my biggest goal for the next few months!

    1. Thanks for sharing!
I think that the monetization is the most difficult part of blogging but I guess we’ll make it someday 🙂

  3. These are awesome goals!! It’s so important to stay on track and hustle to reach your goals, good job girl! I’m glad you’re liking WordPress because when I started 3 months ago I was debating other hosts, but I’m so happy I went with WordPress. It’s the best!!

    1. Me too! I actually started with, but I felt there were too many inconveniences, so I transferred my blog to WordPress. I couldn’t be happier!

  4. Love that you surpassed your goals in May! It’s so nice to self-host your site. You have so much more freedom and can do whatever you want! Good luck with June’s goals! 🙂

  5. Congratulations on all those goals! Getting 14 posts out is awesome ☺️ how are you finding TailWind? I hope you reach all of your June goals!

    1. Hi! Thanks for the comment!
On tailwind, I just have the free version, but I have not seen any traffic improvement yet. I guess it takes time 🙂

  6. Well done on accomplishing your goals, and best of luck on the new ones you’ve set! I love tracking my blog on a monthly basis, and it really helps with keeping consistency!

  7. Those are some amazing goals! I have many blogging goals- one of them similar to your being promoting my blog through Pinterest because that is one social media I had struggled with previously!
Anyways, Hope you achieve all your goals this month! xx

    1. I use Crowdfire to increase my followers, but mainly I think is just interaction in social media.
I share a lot of content and try to answer and RT other bloggers tweets.
I am sure yours will grow too! 🙂
